This is a great recipe from my book, Juiceman. It's sweet, spicy and uses a gorgeous mix of ingredients. While green juices are the biggest draw, red juices based around beetroot are really good for you and taste delicious. Beetroot is an antioxidant rich superfood super high in: Manganese, potassium, magnesium and folate which are great for your blood, bones, muscle development and recovery. Don’t underestimate the power of the Chilli (literally!) It is packed with vitamin C and also helps boost your metabolism and aids digestion. The Chilli also works really well with the lime, balancing the sweetness of the strawberries and pears.
- A large handful of strawberries
- 1 slice of red or green chilli
- 1 lime (peeled)
- 1 beetroot (scrubbed)
- 2 pears
Wash all your ingredients and peel where instructed. Juice them one by one in the order they are listed and serve chilled or enjoy over ice.
