Pre-workout Protein Smoothie

Pre workout is just as important as post workout, which is why I have made this new recipe. It highlights that a good mix of carbs and protein will help you up your performance on your morning run or HIIT session and give you that extra energy when working hard in the gym. I love to get some protein in my system early in the day to sustain muscle growth. Personally I like hemp protein. It's great as it has all 21 known amino acids and a good sauce of BCAA to aid recovery. Try this recipe next time you off to the gym and share your posts as we love to see your versions. Have some fun and play with the ingredients, but I would maintain the base of protein, oats and dates, as they provide all the core benefits you need. ENJOY….. 


  • 500ml Milk (of your choice
  • Handful of oats
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (hemp or whey)
  • 1 tbsp cacao nibs or nut butter
  • 2x Medjool dates
  • Handful of ice
  • Optional tsp maca 


First remove the stones from your dates, peel the banana and add into your blender. Then follow with your fruit, powders and ice. Blend until smooth and serve straight up.






Juiceman Tip: 

Enjoy 30+minutes before your workout to  avoid indigestion during your workout and allow the carbohydrates to start kicking into your system
